The CAC of Georgia programs are designed to provide frontline professionals with best practices, training, and technical assistance to advance child advocacy in the state of Georgia.
Training for Forensic Nurses
Every child impacted by physical or sexual abuse has a legal right to receive a forensic medical examination at no cost. CACGA contracts with nationally recognized forensic nursing experts to deliver the following trainings:
45-Hour Didactic Training
This training combines self-directed learning and in-person learning to educate forensic nurses on topics such as child abuse and neglect, physical abuse mimics, trauma informed care and forensic exam protocols. Offered three times a year.
Georgia Applicants - Free
National Applicants - $50
International Applicants - $75
12-Hour ‘Hands On’ Clinical Training
This training is conducted in person and provides supervised practice in pediatric forensic exams, evidence collection, documentation and photo documentation. Offered twice a year.
