Incest Bill Introduced by Representative Jay Neal (R-1)

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia is working with Representative Jay Neal to pass HB 1183, legislation that makes Georgia’s Incest Statute (O.C.G.A. § 16-6-22) gender neutral. Currently, the law states incest can only occur between members of the opposite sex where parents or aunts/uncles are the offender. This legislation will include abuse by the same sex parent and aunt/uncle as well.

MultiDisciplinary Team Information System (MDTIS) Receives Thumbs Up!

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia has deployed the Multidisciplinary Team Information System (MDTIS) to 38 of our 40 children’s advocacy centers (CACs). MDTIS is a web-enabled system that gives us an invaluable tool in investigating child abuse cases under our jurisdictions.
