INCEST BILL INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVE JAY NEAL (R-1)

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia is working with Representative Jay Neal to pass HB 1183, legislation that makes Georgia’s Incest Statute (O.C.G.A. § 16-6-22) gender neutral. Currently, the law states incest can only occur between members of the opposite sex where parents or aunts/uncles are the offender. This legislation will include abuse by the same sex parent and aunt/uncle as well. Representatives
